Book Covers

Book covers I made for Visual Communications II at NAIT! Woohoo! Fun stuff!!
The first book I tackled was Dune. I used a monochromatic color scheme to imply depth to the illustrated landscape of Arrakis. I wanted to portray the magnificence and scale of the novel through the cover. LISAN AL-GAIB???
The second book I made a cover for was the middle school book report classic, The Chrysalids! I represented the abstract nature of the children in the story, contrasted with the constrictive power structure they live under. Blood red outlined shapes of the cross, and a six-fingered hand block out the colorful abstract shapes of the background.
